About AmCham China:

The American Chamber of Commerce in the People’s Republic of China is a non-profit, non-governmental organization whose membership comprises more than 3,300 individuals from 900 companies operating across China with offices in Beijing, Tianjin, Dalian, Shenyang, and Wuhan. AmCham China Tianjin is a member-led chapter of AmCham China, dedicated to supporting and promoting the business success of its members. We engage industry leaders, negotiate good terms and business conditions for members in China.

 

Intern participants shall gain in-depth knowledge of Business Intelligence, analytics and complete knowledge about China-related Business environment. Interns will meet and work with corporate executives representing fortune 500 companies, multinational companies etc

Reports to: Chapter Manager

Duration: August, 2018-December, 2018,

Allowance: a minimum stipend to help cover transportation and lunch.

Hours of duty: Office Hours: Monday – Friday/0900-1730 hrs.

 

Overall responsibilities:

  1. Provide the Chamber office with daily operational and events support, including

  • Conducting research to identify market trends, and events to assist Member Companies with Strategy decisions
  • Promoting AmCham events in the expat communities
  • Upload regular events information into AmCham online system
  • On-site assistance for events registration, greeting people and facilities testing
  • Content Research for  publications
  • Prepare contents for local bilingual magazines on a monthly basis
  • Internal meeting arrangements, minute-taking and dissemination
  • Other miscellaneous tasks upon request
  1.  Provide  membership and services support, including:

  • Carry out the chamber’s Business Development Strategy
  • Networking with expats and multinational companies and developing business relationships
  • Collect, store and maintain business relationships with these companies

Job Challenges:

  • Ability to handle a complex network and partner relationship;
  • Ability to propose ideas for input while being willing to take direction;
  • Ability to multi-task, and flexibility to take on new tasks as they arise.

Qualifications:

  • native English speaker
  • self- motivated, passionate and team spirit
  • good organizational skills
  • ability to multi-task and work independently under deadline
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint and Word) is a requirement
  • related working experience is a plus
  • knowledge of written and spoken Chinese (Mandarin) is a plus
